The asbestos roof coating provides a totally weather resistant surface which withstands extreme temperatures. AND it can be applied in all temperatures, from -50°C to 120°C.
It's worth remembering that buildings move all the time, particularly large-scale industrial ones. Our asbestos roof coatings are designed to have enough flexibility to adapt and shift with these movements, ensuring your roof remains sealed and water-tight, despite the weather. Our Specialist Roofing System has 340% elongation properties – so you know you are protected from cracks and movement.
We have saved our customers £1000's encapsulating leaking commercial asbestos roofs throughout the UK.
GLS Coatings' professionalism and performance to the tasks in hand was exceptional. From the initial meeting and planning the work to the operatives onsite and the QA procedures undertaken during and after. I cannot fault GLS and would happily employ them again.

The THREE Stages to GLS Coatings’ Asbestos Roof Encapsulation System
Stage One - Cleaning the Asbestos Roof
First, using low-powered hand-pumped sprays, we apply an environmentally-friendly biocide to the roof to kill all of the moss and algae.
Once the moss and algae have been treated, our UKAT Category B Accredited Technicians, wearing full PPE, PICK OFF the moss by hand and place it in the legally compliant double-bagged and labelled Asbestos bags, which are tightly sealed.
Waste containing more than 0.1 per cent asbestos is classed as hazardous/special waste, so any waste that contains asbestos, or is contaminated with asbestos, must be double-bagged and placed in a covered, locked skip. This includes overalls, over-shoes, sampling wastes and respiratory protection equipment that have come into contact with asbestos.
The bags containing the moss and algae are then placed in a lockable compartment in our vehicle and returned to base. Finally, our Hazardous Waste Contractors take the bagged moss and algae to an Approved Hazardous Waste Disposal Site. And, of course there is full paperwork, proving Duty of Care and full compliance.
Stage 2 - Applying the Structural Stabilising Layer to the Asbestos Roof
This stabilising layer is spray-applied under high pressure and it fills any small voids or cracks, before expanding and setting to form a lightweight layer – sealing the whole roof.
It also secures any loose or broken fixings, which are common on old asbestos roofs.
Stage 3 - Applying Advanced Waterproofing Layer to the Asbestos Roof
Finally, a technologically advanced waterproof barrier is applied over the structural stabilising layer. Using the latest chemical technology, this layer is spray-applied and forms a complete, seamless coating over the entire roof area.

Duty of Care for non domestic premises to manage asbestos
The duty to manage asbestos is directed at those who manage non-domestic premises: the people with responsibility for protecting others who work in such premises, or use them in other ways, from the risks to ill health that exposure to asbestos causes.
take reasonable steps to find out if there are materials containing asbestos in non-domestic premises, and if so, its amount, where it is and what condition it is in
presume materials contain asbestos unless there is strong evidence that they do not make, and keep up-to-date, a record of the location and condition of the asbestos- containing materials – or materials which are presumed to contain asbestos
assess the risk of anyone being exposed to fibres from the materials identified
prepare a plan that sets out in detail how the risks from these materials will be managed
take the necessary steps to put the plan into action
periodically review and monitor the plan and the arrangements to act on it so that the plan remains relevant and up-to-date
provide information on the location and condition of the materials to anyone who is liable to work on or disturb them

‘Asbestos still kills around 5000 workers each year – this is more than the number of people killed on the road, with around 20 tradesmen dying each week as a result of past exposure.’ Source: Health & Safety Executive.
But asbestos isn’t just a thing of the past – it can still be found in any building that was built or refurbished before 2000.
It is easy to see why asbestos was hailed as being a brilliant solution for the building trade – it has many applications from lining airing cupboards to providing durable asbestos cement roofs which have lasted for decades.
However, many of these roofs are now failing and letting in water. Yet it is an extremely costly business to over-clad or replace an asbestos cement roof, with the possibility of the release of harmful asbestos fibres.
This is where GLS Coatings Asbestos Encapsulation System proves extremely cost-effective – WITHOUT disrupting the business.
GLS Coatings Asbestos Encapsulation System is the safest method of fixing your asbestos roof. This is because our Asbestos Encapsulation System prevents the further release of harmful asbestos fibres into the air. With no disturbance to the asbestos, work can be completed quickly with
